The Orlando Magic have formally waived guard C.J. Watson.
C.J. Watson spent two seasons in Orlando as a primary reserve at the point guard position.
Watson averaged 4.5 points per game, 2.1 assists per game, and 1.4 rebounds per game with the Orlando Magic.
Waiving Watson means the Magic are only responsible for a fraction of his $5 million salary for the 2017-18 season saving $4 million in cap space.

Orlando didn’t announce the move until today, but it was heavily assumed that the veteran was nearing a release when the team agreed to terms with guard Shelvin Mack last week.
Watson has been linked to be a target by the Minnesota Timberwolves now that he is a free agent.
