The Orlando Magic need help. With the trade deadline looming next month and the Magic underachieving, should the Orlando Magic consider sending Aaron Gordon to Houston?

That’s right, I said it and I’ll say it again.

Aaron Gordon needs to go Houston.

Rob Hennigan needs Aaron Gordon to go to Houston.

The Orlando Magic brass need to make the call. Alex Martins, pick up the phone and make the call.

Sounds crazy, right?

But it’s not as crazy as one may think.

The Orlando Magic could get a huge return from Houston. The Houston Rockets have talent on the roster that could benefit the Orlando Magic but we will save that for another discussion.

The call being made needs to be going to two-time champion and hall of famer Hakeem Olajuwon who resides in Houston, Texas.

For years, Hakeem Olajuwon has been regarded to as the master of footwork and low post scoring moves. His footwork originated from playing soccer and transitioned beautifully to the NBA game.

Over the past decade, Olajuwon has helped transition the NBA’s top players’ basketball games. The results, well let’s just say if Aaron Gordon could replicate the success of past players then the Orlando Magic could be looking at a superstar

Aaron Gordon is not a small forward and that’s not necessarily admitting failure or saying he can’t play the position. By natural skill set, he should be playing at the power forward position currently occupied by Serge Ibaka.

For the moment that’s ok.

Gordon is simply not ready to occupy that position either. The issue is not that he lacks the IQ or physical tools, he simply needs to use his bulky frame and jumping ability closer to the rim. That’s where the Magic should hope Olajuwon could help them.

Let’s take a look at a few players Olajuwon has worked with in the past.
